Do you know enough about your obligations regarding trust accounts pursuant to the Legal Profession Act 2008 (LPA) (Part 9 Division 2)? Do you practice as a sole practitioner or as a partner in a firm? Is it time for you to refresh your knowledge?

Part 12 of the LPA deals with Fidelity Cover and is linked to the dishonest dealing of trust monies by lawyers. Explore real life examples of lawyers who have defaulted in regards to trust account management which have resulted in claims made against the Solicitors’ Guarantee Fund.

This seminar will also explore the types of complaints and conduct issues considered by the Legal Profession Complaints Committee in regard to breaches of trust account requirements pursuant to Part 9 Division 2 of the LPA and some practical tips to avoid breaches of these provisions.
